I really do appreciate all the input so far.

Are you listening? I just posted about a cheap external sound card that will  connect to your amp's built in DAC (optical) and connect to your PC via USB. It's called a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI HD. It also will send digital, from digital or analog source, to the  computer. This allows you to get vinyl onto the computer, etc.

I am listening, and I guess my last question was a little off since I am not that knowledgeable regarding these components, but the main point was that I wanted a CHEAP adapter. I know that your suggestion would work, and that the Creative Sound Blaster X-FI HD is relatively cheap, but I still didn't want to spend $90 on it if I could avoid it. So, I asked again. Still, thanks for the advice sterling1.

Just an update:

I finally got the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II USB Analog & Digital Audio Adapter that matbhuvi recommended. It sounds amazing and works great. Straight out of the computer the analog output already sounds better, and louder. But, I run it optically through my amp, which was the original intention, and it works perfectly for the price of $23.

Thanks for all the input.
