Intro To Vinyl, how's this stuff look?

I found a used Pioneer PL-112D TT and Harman/Kardon 330B Receiver for $125 on my local Craigslist and was wondering what people thought of the price and combination of the two.

Any advice on these is much appreciated. Hopefully somebody can help quickly so I don't risk losing this if it's worth it.

EDIT:
Not much help considering the size, but here's a pic of everything in the ad.

I'm only looking at the receiver and TT.

Picture added (sadly it's a small one)

If everything works I'd offer $100 and see hot it goes. The turntable is belt driven so that's a good thing but you'll probably have to replace it if it's very old. What are the speakers? I see maybe a horn but the other drivers look kind of small.

The TT is said to have a new cart, stylus and belt, so that should all be good.

The speakers are some older Klipsch. Not sure of the model, but it supposedly has a 15" passive radiator on it. so that's all I have to go on.

I'd grab it. I just hooked up my Pioneer PL-7 that my dad gave me for free. It looks to be from the same time period. It cost me $100 to replace the cart and find a decent preamp. And it sounds awesome over my relatively quaint system. Totally worth it.

Well that's reassuring. Thanks. I'm probably going to go for it at $125. I think I'm gonna ask what cart and stylus is on it first though to see if that's gonna need changing or anything to be worth it.

I would definitely go for that setup.

I'd check out the  Klipsch speakers also, Check to see if the mid range and 15"  passive radiator surrounds are rotting or torn ETC....... If you have the room and they work they could be nice speakers, you'd have to raise them up off the floor about 12" IMO......The TT. and the Receiver aren't worth to much.. But If if you need a TT., That's a different story...... I'd make sure everything works and See what the guy wants for everything....(Tell him Lets make it a package Deal) for???  that's only if you need the speakers.....Or have the room for them.......One small tube amp 6 to 15 watts would sound killer...Try to find out the age of this stuff..Good luck..If the TT needs a new cartridge, it could be some bucks($50-100 bucks) and if you're giving close to $150.00 plus new cart etc.. or have to spend to much more you could be getting a "Project entry level" TT with new cart... or  Rega p1......new or used in great shape......... See What you can do...

He has the ad set at $450 for everything... not gonna happen. I've been told $125 for the TT and receiver. They are both from the mid 70s as far as searches have told me. He says there's a new cart and stylus on it. Anybody know anything about an Empire 3000E cart? I'm finding nothing on it, but it'll probably get used until I can afford to upgrade that to something better. No info on the stylus, but he said the stuff was from LPGear, so it's likely the LPGear branded stylus that's on their site now.

Need better speakers, yes, have room for them, no. And regardless, I don't have the other $325 he's asking for them, and don't see them being worth another $325 anyway.

For now I'll probably be using some older (mid 80s maybe) mid range Cerwin Vegas with the setup

A tube amp is on a long wish list... after speakers, headphone mods, a DAC, etc.

Yep, Good Info on Prices....That's way to much money for those old K-Horn classics... Have you tried goggling that cart.......If you need the TT and the receiver I'd offer about 150 or so....Has he given you a price for the TT and the  Harman/Kardon 330B Receiver .. Maybe check out "Parts Express" they have cartridges... Is it a P-MOUNT, meaning does it have pins that plug into the end of the tonearm, or does it have screws holding it on a head shell and then you hook up the cartridge leads to the little pins on the back of the cartridge?????? good luck man........

Standard / 1/2" mount for a 3000E, but that's all I've found. I've heard nothing good or bad about a 3000E other than it is a 1/2" mount.

Google... Bing... nothing at all. Found some Styli for it, but nothing on the cart itself.

Hell then your down town then my friend...I googled it and found some info...but I'd save up and get something else..I got my step son a brand new Shure like this one I picked off of amazon, for $68 bucks on audiogon  just last yr...or go to parts express and see what they have...Hell even a entry level Grado cart should work.....Are the cart. tag lines coming through the tonearm ok?? Better yet can you listen to it?? Making sure that the music is comming out of both channels? Hint, Take a pr of headphones with you and just hook up the TT and the receiver and plug in your cans and listen...

Yeah, the cart upgrade is planned somewhere down the line. Just not sure how soon after the purchase that will happen. And taking the cans was the plan to test everything out.

And I'm just getting started, so no I do not have any setup tools at the moment.
