Let me preface this by admitting that I have not extensively tube-rolled with my WA6SE yet.
Now that that's out of the way... my favorites that I've tried so far are fat GE 6EW7s. I find them absolutely quiet and very pleasantly warm. They are perhaps not the most detailed tubes I've tried, but since I've mostly been trying to get the Woo to synergise with Grado RS-1s, the tubey warmth of the GE 6EW7s has impressed me the most so far.
FWIW, my stack of drivers also includes RCA, Sylvania and Zenith 6DE7s, UE and Raytheon 6EW7s, and a couple odd ducks I honestly can't find at the moment. I'm using the EML 5U4G rectifier.
Hope this helps, Ross!

Hi Ben. My 6SE came with the Raytheon 6EW7s and I find them fairly pleasant and neutral. The RCA 6DE7 I'm using now were quite sibilant at first but have settled in with burn time. What I want is to find a (working) pair of 6FD7s. These seem to have been a challenge to locate. I've heard conflicting reports regarding how much and to what degree different rectifiers effect the sound quality. Right now I have the Sylvania 5U4G. I'd like to hear the EML but have yet to break down and buy one. Thanks for the tips.

I switched back to the 6EW7 and I much prefer them to the sibilant and shriller (to me) sound of the RCA 6DE7. The 6EW7 sounds much smoother. I'll give the 6FD7 fat bottles a try too. If I can find them. LoL

I'm using the Sylvania 6DE7 paired with a Sophia Princess. These give me the detail I like with a bit of warmth. Preferred over the Raytheon 6EW7 which sound a bit muddier or dull. Not as dynamic.
If you have a tester or have someone test it for you, you can give this guy a ring. I got two pair of Sylvania 6FD7 from him before.
