13EM7 seems to be a rare tube... but the design is very simple... wow

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

i found this 1:20 speaker matching transformer with 16ohm output. feeding it 32ohms will yield around 600ohms in the primary.
i shall try a 12au7 aikido first then try this transformer.
thanks for the input guys!

A 1:20 transformer with 32r hanging on the secondary looks more like 12.8Kohms on the primary.
Impedances are the SQUARE of the turns or voltage ratio.

I should note that I am confused with the transformer ratio. Where you and I have been writing 1:20 I think it should be 20:1.
a 20:1 impedance ratio is a ~4.5:1 winding ratio. IME quite nice with a preamp with tasteful gain.
