Individualisation is the key. Modern entertainment electronics should comply with people not vice versa. This also refers to headphones, which come closer than any other hi-fi product to people who are wearing them. The new DTX in-ear headphones from beyerdynamic perfectly meet the requirements of this time.

MMX 101 iE (MSRP $99.00) is the third model; a multimedia headset for mobile phones, e.g. iPhone, Blackberry, HTC, or for the computer. It combines the sound advantages of the DTX 101 iE with a high-quality hands-free microphone. With a push on the button, phone calls can be accepted or finished, while the MP3 player will turn into a hold mode and continue with the programme from the position it was last at.

Using the supplied cable adapter, the MMX 101 iE can be connected to the jack plugs for headphone and microphone of a PC or laptop. In this way the headset can be used for phone usage by the computer, for example Skype or VoIP connections, or simply for playing multimedia networked online games.

bdusa, please tell us how the DTX 101 iE differs from the current DTX 100 model, other than coming with colored housings and being about 20% cheaper. For that matter, is it comparable to the current DTX 80? Thank you.

I can't wait for initial impressions on the mmx 101 iEs. I'm kinda disappointed that we only get a mic button but not volume ones to go with it. Lookwise they look similar to the nuforce 700x/ms.
