A little appreciation for Monster's Customer Support

I just wanted to say that Monster deserves more credit than it gets for its Customer support. About two weeks ago Sunday, my cat got a hold of my Monster Turbine Pros and sliced them up into 5 pieces. I knew stuff like this isnt covered in warranties cuz it was my own fault, but I called their customer support anyway. After waiting about 5-10 minutes, I was talking to this really nice guy who had me explain what happened (told him it was caught in a door, was too embarassed). He told me what I expected, that it wasnt covered, but he decided to send me a replacement as a courtesy! Tell me thats not amazing. Then he took down my info, gave me an RA and told me to ship my shredded ones out (only sent 3 parts, y'know, to keep with the door story) to their office. Sent them out Monday last week, and lo and behold, I got a new pair today. Not only that, this one was actually a newer model. The set that I had, and I'm sure most others, had a straight jack, but this one actually has a right-angle connector like the box always claimed! All I can say is, Thanks, Monster, you all are much more professional than most people give you credit for.

Yeah, they are pretty cool when it comes to warranty. I suppose their humongous profit margin affords them the right to be extra nice to their customers. I just wish their more expensive headphones were better made.

I can add to Monster customer support. Around Christmas, I purchased some refurbished Turbines from Monster's own web site. I think they were like $40 or near there. They came with only one set of ear buds, but did include the leather case.

First week of January, I attended the CES in Vegas and stopped by the Monster booth. Got to shooting the breeze with a rep and he ends up giving me a full set of the Super Tips, both gel and foam. Nice score.

A week later, the refurbished ear buds broke. Shell came apart and a wire came loose. Called customer support, got a RMA nunber and returned the Turbines. Two weeks later (yesterday), I received a brand new shrink wrapped pair of Turbines. These are also a newer model as these have the L connector instead of the straight connector. Plus the leather pouch, suede bag, and all the ear tips. Kudos to monster.

wow wow wow hold up, are you sure they are the L connectors? because a lot of us who got in on the amazon deal found out that it was only on the "box" as in the picture on the box said it had L shaped connectors but once we had opened it up it was straight...

My first (refurbished) set had the straight connector. I assure you, the replacement set has the L connector. Both sets came straight from Monster.

Yeah my original pair, which I got from Amazon around Christmas brand new, had a straight connector, but the new ones have an L jack. Its a lot roomier, I think it may be like the new model or something. It may be just me, but I think the cable is a bit shorter than the old one. Actually, yeah, I might just be wearing it different now. The box also came with these weird little ear pieces. It wraps around your ear, so you put the earbud into the little slot in the piece and then wrap it around your ear and stick the earbud in. I guess the idea behind it is that it'll keep your buds from falling out and it wont damage the cable from being where it is. I dunno how I feel about it, its kinda strange. Assuming you let your cord run behind you, it still doesnt get in the way even though it drops straight down instead of around your ear. The L-jack feels like it comes out a little easier, whenever the cables got caught on something so far, rather than tug my ear to tears, the jack just came off my fuze. Was walking around for entire hour before I took it out to look for another song and realized nothing was plugged in. normal_smile%20.gif

Anyway, all in all, for having got a replacement I shouldnt have, and one thats even better than the original, I'm happy.

No ? I believed you I just wanted to see how it looks like, and I do regret selling my turbines
Now since I could have gotten these as a replacement but really thanks for that!

It does NOT have the cable slider. I can live without it, but would have been nice.
