LittleDot MK V or Matrix M-Stage, maybe Asgard for DT-880pro(250)?

Thread Starter

So it seems I am in the market for a dedicated head-amp for my DT-880pro(250).

While the headphoneout from my receiver is fast, accurate and crytsal clear, the 880s simply don't develop pressure the way I heard them at the demo, which was with a pro-studio chain. Not betting on it being my trusty Yamaha CDP (with a BB DAC) nor burn in think I need a headamp.

So which amp would you favour? I know the Matrix also has a quick and good opamp upgrade but then again, I heard the LittleDot is also a great value proposition. Or maybe a Schiit Asgard? Preference would be the more clear, linear and powerful sounding. Any replies are welcome. Thanks beyersmile.png

have you checked out the purity audio Kicas and caliente versions? they are going for around 250 right now due to a recent price drop, they were originally 399 i think

they've gotten some good reviews on these forums. the Kicas is sold as being a neutral / analytical amp, while the caliente is warmer

You probably can't go wrong with the M-Stage, Caliente, or Asgard, I imagine.

The Little Dot or M-stage would most likely both perform well.
