E7/E9 question

Do I need to turn on E7 when docked so that it overrides the DAC of my music player?

Also, if I connect E9 with E7 docked to my computer, the volume will be really really small. I have to turn the knob to the max. Is this because it's conflicting with Xonar DX?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

When the E7/E9 combo is connected to your computer, the E7 has to be turned on and the computer must be set to use it as the default audio device. Otherwise you won't get any sound from it.

The E7's DAC only functions when connected to a computer. It won't work if you connect, say a CD player to the E7/E9.

So are you saying that if I connect my mp3 player to E7/E9, the E7's DAC will not take over the player's?

Right, the E7's DAC will not take over in that situation.

Is there a way to make it take over the mp3's DAC?

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no way to do that.
