Is there a good tube amp for under $500 for RS2i?

Hi,

I have a pair of RS2i phones and in my home office I have them running through the iBasso D12, in my living room I have the Grado RA1 running off my Pioneer receiver in Zone 2 mode.

I have read that a tube amp will pair really well the the Grado RS series headphones and want to try out the world of tube amps and tube rolling. I was reading up on the Little Dot and Schiit amps and there is some doubt as to how well those tube amps pair with the Grados. Any other suggestions for my budget?

The TTVJ Millet Hybrid portable sounds very nice on the RS-1. As long as you have decent current, the Grados will play well with a lot of amps, portable or home.

The Woo 3. I owned one and used it with my 325i and RS-1. They work well together.

I love the Woo industrial looks.

You can look for a Mapletree amp used.

Save some beans and go with the LDI+.  Great with Grados and low impedance cans.  You'll have lots of cash left over for tubes.  Three families of tubes to choose from...

I have an Earmax Pro and used to run RS-1s through it.  Impeccable sound. Authoritative but tight bass and just ridiculously sweet mids.

I have pulled the trigger on the Little Dot 1+ and can't wait until Chinese New Year holiday is over and they can be shipped.
