Does anyone know where to get hold of a similar plug.

I've got  replies from two reputable persons (from Moon Audio and Performanceaudio) who suggest that it is not possible to find a threaded 1/8" plug.
Despite this, I'm sill amazed how come it is not possible to find an aftermarket mini plug with a thread for an adapter.

At this time I checked all major plug makers with no success, though the adapter appears much easier to find.

PLZ suggest solutions.

just use a standard 1/8" plug.  you don't need an exact replacement.

Well, it's too easy a solution to the problem. In my Casio piano the normal working position of the 1/4 adapter is vertical and I liked that the assembly is secured with thread.

That 3.5mm looks like it's bent, just reterminate with 1/4" and use a 3.5mm adapter when necessary.

Installing Furutech or alike with a 3.5mm adapter is aslo not an option, as this combination will easily destroy a jack on my sound card.

How do you figure?  Installing a 1/4" on the cable for when you use the piano would keep a tight fit.  For the 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter, I'd recommend something like the Grado one that you can simply leave plugged in to the sound card and by design, it isn't going to put any pressure on your card.

You're making it a harder problem than it needs to be.  It's an easy solution.  Re-terminate with what you need.

Thank you for your ideas,

1. Grado is definitely a good option

2. Ryan from Performance Audio also suggested another option: http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/k-100-07-3m-1.html

Thanks, I'll weigh the pros and cons.

PS I'm still shocked that all majors make their plugs disassemblable. Somehow, I didn't pay attention to this before.

After assembling Grado adapter and Furutech 1/4 plug, I realized that the whole thing weights about 2 oz

So, I had to turn back to full recabling.  I got hold of Sennheiser coiled wire #531461 with threaded adapter and replaced the old cable.

Soldering was not an easy task as each copper hair was covered with some polymer.

It's a pity I didn't know this source
