Now that I've done the tube rolling, fuse replacement and volume bypass, and not that it really needs it, I'm considering replacing the two white 3.3uF film caps in my Eastern Electric DAC with something a bit more exotic.
The V-caps OIMP seem to be a popular choice with Havana owners but I recall reading a comment stating that they made it sound brighter. To me "bright" is not necessarily a desirable thing but in this case it appears to be what the modder was aiming for in the Havana.
I was wondering if anyone with experience with these or other similarly priced caps could comment on this mod.
Keep in mind that the EE is already a very fast and detailed DAC so I don't feel there's much room for improvement in that department but if anything can be gained elsewhere without risking making things worse then I'd probably give it a go.
