RCA connector colours?

I have RCA interconnects terminated in red and black connectors. My amps sockets are red and white. I assume I connect the red to the red and the black to the white? I have another cable that has blue and yellow connectors. There I guessed yellow = white blue = red. Is that correct?

I don't really think that the color matters all that much except for letting you know which channel you're connecting. It's just better than having two black connectors on both ends.

yellow is generally video. audio is white/red.
