I think you should listen to the e-Q7 again if you have the chance, just to check if you're indeed remembering them as you believe. Just a suggestion.

Soundwise I'd recommend either the e-Q5 or FI-BA-A1, but am pretty sure neither of them take Comply P-series because their nozzles are wider than the SE530's. So CK10 would be the only valid option. Compared to the e-Q5 these have less textured bass and hotter treble. Still great IEMs and pretty emotional, whereas the Ortofons and Final Audios are more relaxed.

In that case I would heartily recommend the eq-5's !biggrin.gif

Yes, I was basically referring to sensitivity. I don't amp my portables. The DBA-02's are easily powered by my iPods.

As for my music... mostly classical (early music, Tudor, Baroque, etc.) then Jazz, Bluegrass, Rock. In that order, but it's anything acoustic that I care most about (soundwise).

I just bought the CK10 again on impulse (I had the funds in my paypal account after my 601 sale and such and bought the CK10) so I can give you a better idea when I get them in my possession again.

Hmm... no Comply's. That's a real deal-breaker for me. Thanks James for the info.

To be precise, I said no Comply P-series because that's what you were asking. But I just checked their website and the T-series are listed as compatible with the Ortofon e-Q7. Since the e-Q5 and FI-BA-A1 have similar sized nozzles I'd think these fit them too.

True enough. I did say P-series. I used the T-series (T-500) with my UE TF5 Pro's and didn't think they sealed or fit nearly as well as the 'P'. It could have been the UE, however as I found them ergonomically difficult (too long, big, heavy, etc.). I found that with my ear canals I couldn't get a deep enough insertion with the 'T'.

Who knows... maybe someone will bring a pair of the e-Q's to our meet next month and I'll be able to try them out.

Thanks.

Oh... and I just saw this on the 'Comply' thread...

Maybe that means you need to get another DBA-02

That depends on how it sounds :P I may have a go at that. I do like the cable on the Brainwavz stuff much better than the cable the DBA-02 had.

Although it depends on what I plan on doing with the CK10..

Why would anyone ever get a second set of the same IEM? (8^) see my sig below)

Comply tips are possible with the CK10. I have a very old set that may be the P version and with some twisting it fits right in there but very tightly.
