Asus Laptop Output Not Very Good Quality

Thread Starter

Hi everyone, this is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while now. I got my first pair of headphones (HD438). Anyway, the aux output from my Asus laptop is very distorted and the bass is very very weak. It sucks even when compared to an iPod. Anyway, are there any USB solutions to this problem? I don't want to spend a lot of money.

Thanks!

Often laptop headphone out is pretty poor, there is a lot of choice when it comes to solutions.

The best I ever tried wasn't cheap - The Pico Amp with DAC, but you don't have to break the bank. iBasso D10 was OK, RSA Predator not that great really.

If you're on a budget I'd look at FiiO.

The FiiO E7 is not overwhelmingly good, but it's nice. The price certainly is great and it will be an improvement on most laptop hp out and has some bass boost functionality too.

Best thing about it is an easy upgrade is to add the FiiO E9 - now that is a very nice amp, especially for the price.
