AUDIOPHONICS UCT27

I searched the forums for any information about this little DAC but couldn't find any. Has anyone here ever used or heard about the AUDIOPHONICS UCT27 USB DAC? I found a reference to it in a french blog but haven't really found any other info/reviews for it. I'm sure other similar designs exist but I'm still new to the whole field.

It sells for 14 Euros, pretty inexpensive. It doesn't come with a casing or any cables, you basically get the board only. Here's what it looks like.

More information can be found about it here (it's in french) :

I have a pair of Grado SR-80i and I was wondering if this would be a step up from my on-board sound card on my PC. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi

I have this small DAC. And for the price... Its Great! Actually. It was so great that when i ordered first one, i arranged collective order with finnish hifi forum (www.hifiharrastajat.org) and we ordered app. 30 pcs. And after receiving these units feedback waas so good that they pressured me to arrange new one.. And we ordered all DAC they currently had in stock, and actually bit more... (60 pcs).

Well. All i can say, it is way way better than any integrated sound chip.... and excellent value for money spent on it!

Thanks for both of your opinions... at this price, it doesn't really hurt to try it. I'll have to see what the shipping charges are. Is there somewhere on this side of the pond (either US or Canada) where I could order one of these (on the cheap...)?
