If you're looking for epic music in the traditional sense, the game Dragon's Age had a pretty decent soundtrack with some epic songs in it.

Never heard of this guy before, but it rocks!

November Rain still is pretty beast for me.  Paradise City is still anthemic as well...
 

Rawkfist by Thousand Foot Krutch is one of the more epic new rock tracks.

Totally agree.  Anyone who thinks Lady Gaga is not talented is basically one of those hipsters that love to hate on everything mainstream just for the sake of it.

 

She's living the dream.  Either she stays as an unknown artist playing piano and singing in no name jazz clubs striving to make a living (someone that head-fi would completely drool over), or become the next international pop icon world making millions.  Hmm, tough choice.

You know what I think would be interesting?  When you say some songs are "epic", say what you mean by the word.   I'm guessing we have a lot of different meanings here, and understanding what someone means when they use the label for a few songs would help all of us decide whether we want to go there.

 

So I recommended a bunch of Procol Harum songs a few pages back.  To me "epic" means telling a story that resonates deeply, maybe set outside our everyday experience, but maybe not, with music (often with some grandeur and gravitas) to match.  For instance, it's not one that would come to mind for most people, but the Kinks' "Shangri-La" off of "Arthur" is epic in a lot of those ways, despite being everyday experience - according to the definition I'm using.
