So I'm trying to compile a list of songs that are really, well, epic so if everyone could participate that'd be great. This is more of a test to see what songs can give the most shivers

so to start things off

requiem for a dream - Clint Masell
City of Hope - Audiomachine

Dream is Collapsing - Hans Zimmer

Time - Hans Zimmer

All the more engaging if you loved the movie aswell.

Damien - Iced Earth

Bleak - Opeth

  • Denny Schneidemesser - Entering The Stronghold
  • Dream Theater - Stream of Consciousness
  • Dream Theater - Hell's Kitchen
  • Dream Theater - The Best of Times
  • Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 1
  • Dream Theater - Octavarium
  • Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
  • Transatlantic - Stranger in your soul

Concept albums (treat as a whole song -> epic length at least):

  • Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory
  • Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (disc 2)
  • Transatlantic - The Whirlwind

Pretty prog driven list... DT is great. :)

The bird and the worm, by "The used" (clash of titans soundtrack)

Very epic song, specially the instrumental version.

Just an epic song (as opposed to whole albums or multi-song suites)?

A Salty Dog, and Crucifiction Lane, from A Salty Dog (the whole album is seriously epic)

Whaling Stories, Procol Harum, from the Home.

In Held 'Twas I, Procol Harum, from Shine on Brightly

Those guys knew how to write stories.

I'm listening to it at the moment from youtube and from my poop speakers but I feel like Zack Hemsey's Mind heist from inception would be AMAZING from a decent source

I think that audioslave's "Like a Stone" qualifies. Possibly "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, but I'm not sure whether it qualifies as "epic"
