Question about burn-in...

Thread Starter

Hi, sorry for my bad English. (French is my primary language), and I hope my question isn't stupid... redface.gif

I have:

Amp: WooAudio WA6 +  Sophia Princess Mesh Plate 274B rectifier

Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT880 (600ohm)

DAC: Asus Xonar Essence STX (RCA outputs) + LME49720 OpAmp (buffer)

The amp has about ~150-175hours of play (bought it used), but the "rectifier" and the "headphones" are brand new (maybe ~10 hours).

Is it safe to accelerate the burn-in of the amp / rectifier / headphones by leaving them playing music during the day, when I go to work?

I don't like to leave gear running when I'm not at home, especially tube gear. It gets hot and there is high voltage. The risk might not be high, but I don't think there's a need to take the risk. Just listen to you equipment and enjoy it. You do not have to burn in; many of us don't.

P.S. Your English is fine. À votre santé! smily_headphones1.gif
