Help in soldering a new 3.5mm plug into RE0s [Canada]

Thread Starter

hi guys,

I need some help resoldering my RE0 3.5mm plug since my old one had connectivity problems...

i cut out the old plug and stripped the wire, and there are 4 wires, 1 left , 1 right and 2 ground. however, there is only 3 solder pins on the neutrik 3.5mm i m looking to buy, how do i solder the 2 ground wires on it?

thanks,

also, anyone happen to have a spare neutrik 3.5mm that they can sell to me (in Canada) since i cant seem to  find any electronic supply shops that store these in downtown Montreal....

thanks a lot!

Just solder both of the ground wires to the ground tab.

The Source is a pretty common store in Canada.

But $8 for their plastic 3.5mm plug seems a bit much. o_O

Digikey.ca has a plastic one for $1.43 (plus $8 flat rate next day Fedex shipping).

Mouser has the Neutrik plug but shipping is $20.

And Newark too.

Parts Connexion has some fancy ones (gold & pearl chrome plated, yet costs less than The Source one!), but no Neutrik.

@rudyzhou2, I've got a couple spares. PM me.

What about Studio Economik?  They have Neutrik connectors and they are in Montreal.
