I myself have tried the HD555s and I can testify that classical is amazing on them.  I have since tried many other headphones, but the soundstage and characteristic warmth of the 555s work GREAT for classical.  They are also very versatile so it'll be good for other music too.

Do yourself a favor and go with the cheaper 555s, and do the very safe foam mod (search it) to make it practically identical to the HD595.

I had my first blissful classical listening session with the HD555s.  Rachmaninoff PC2... My heart moved with the music.

Also, guitars and pianos sound SO good on the 555s, I regretted selling them immediately when I heard how those instruments sounded on many other headphones.  The HD555s have a very flattering forward midrange that is buttery smooth and warm.  They are meant for acoustic music.

Get them.
