Cleaning the garage and a potential MacGyver solution.

I was cleaning the garage and found these (headphones for scale):

I hooked em up to an old amp we had lying around and ran my E7 out of my laptop into them. Pretty good! A lot of the problems (Static and such) were coming from the amp which my mom told me she got in the 70's or 80's from Radioshack.

I've never had a legitimate set of speakers. I'm going to be running them in a redneck fashion.

Basically, I have a set of Cambridge Soundworks PC speakers, a 2.1 system. All the inputs/outputs are on the back of the sub, as seen here:

I plugged the speakers into the sub and, as far as I can tell, it gives them a solid amount of juice. The specs on the back of the speakers say that they are 4ohm with a nominal power of 10W and maximum power of 25W. I don't fully understand what the Watt measurements are for.

Anyway, I can run the E7 from my laptop into the Sub which will pass it on to the speakers. I can turn down the bass level on the sub or leave it at a reasonable level, as it isn't a bad sub at all. Volume control through the E7. Sound like a plan? Anybody have anything to say about the speakers? Quadraflex 204L?

Get an E9 and RCA cable to bypass E7 amp.

I should probably clarify that the Subwoofer has an amp of some sort built in which is supplying the power to the speakers. The E7 is not driving them.

Haaaaaaalelujaaaaaaaah! They are beautiful! Perfect combination with the sub IMHO.
