Recommend DAC/AMP or DAC+AMP to an Audeze LCD-2??

Hello!

 

Im searching for a dac/amp (Like audio-gd FUN) for max $800 (€550)  to an Audeze LCD-2?

[Cheaper is better]

 

Or 

 

Do you think a DAC + AMP is a better choice?

Yes, have read the tread, but i only find Amp and Dacs, not a DAC/AMP smily_headphones1.gif

Nuforce HDP seems to power mine pretty well at $449.

 

I haven't had the opportunity to listen to these particular cans with a higher end amp or dac though.

There are a few discussed there, such as the RWA Isabella and Isabellina.  Most recently, the Burson HA-160D, as mentioned above, the NuForce HDP.  Another one mentioned and worth auditioning is the CEntrance DacMini.  I haven't heard the released version, but it's little brother, the DacPort, sounds incredible with most headphones.  The output power of the DacPort is a wee bit limited for the LCD-2, but perhaps the amp in the DacMini is more up to the task.

WRT the DAC portion of the CEntrance products...  They sort of wrote the book on USB DACs and hold many industry patents on that technology which is being licensed by many other DAC manufacturers.

Audio-gd NFB-10 (either WM or ES) works well with LCD-2.

Maybe the Benchmark DAC1?  I've heard the DAC1 Pre with the LCD-2, not sure if the amp section is the same on the DAC1, but I think it is.
