Emmeline II The Stealth - Pictures 56K Warning - Page 7

Dave I think you are right about the volume control affecting the output on the line outs. I know on my Theta Pre/Pro they have two tape outs and one is a 2nd room tape out that can be used as a tape out if the volume is turned up all the way on it. I'm not sure this will work on the Stealth though.

I would think the best person to give you a final answer on this is Ray. I emailed him about some of my questions and he got back to me very quickly.

Emmeline II " THE STEALTH "

Hi dave-the-rave...
Yes, Both of the outputs are controled by the stepped attenuator.
They are that way for those Hi-End demanding audiophile that use four mono blocks to feed thier speakers, called, Bi-Amping,
as two mono blocks control the Midbass drivers, & the other two the high drivers. You can also control two stereo amps in two locations to power two sets of speakers, also could be used as output to any recorder.

Ray would you turn the volume up all the if you wanted to use one of the outs as record out?

The Stealth

busaganashi....
No that would be too much output for your recorder. I would go less that half turn, 10-11 O'clock as output from the pre-amp, This way if you have a CD player that is too digitally sound wise, the touch of the tube pre-amplification would smoothen the sharp digital sound & make it sweeter.
Cheers.

Ray,

I take it this would also work then if I wanted to integrate the Stealth into a home theater system by running the Pre/Pro to say Input 4 and then one of the outputs to the amp.

How would you recommend handling the volume control on the Stealth in this case? I'm guessing I could just match the sound levels to my center channel.

Thank you for all the info.

The ultimate in surround sound

In the systems where money is no object & thousands of dollars are pocket change, This is how it is done: The DVD player plays the movie, the sound goes to the pre-amp inputs, left & right channel, then one of the outputs goes to a dedicated decoder that decodes the Dolby or what ever, & that decoder has the multiple outputs each assigned to an amp that drives one of the speakers in the surround system, that means you have to have 5-7 mono amps to control all the speakers. The volume on all speakers are adjusted through the processor, once that is done then the pre-amp controls the general volume. That surley will make you forget work, wife & kids.

In my case I use ten channels of amplification via two Sunfire Cinema Grands to biamp my system, but it works just fine!
