I've compared them 2-3 times in different threads, search should turn them up.  Look at Tdockweiller's thread and a few others should turn up.  555/595/558/598, etc.

What do you think Sennheiser might charge to repair a small crack if my headphones are out of warranty?  Any idea?  Thank you.

More than you're willing to pay, I suspect. Let epoxy glue be your friend.

I love my 598, and trying my best not to have a crack. When I take off the hp, I hold the headband part not the phone as I did with other hps. It ridiculous, but better safe than sorry I thought.

Did Sennheiser ever really fix this issue? I can't see why they would rather keep replacing cracking headphones

Read it ladies!

Also try to expand the headphones ONLY by the main band, you need to keep pressure off the parts that break.

OR

Buy HD600/650's (depending on your tastes)

I've had my 595s for 5 years. Zero cracks.

Nice one.  Was looking to get one of these but heard about the crackin' and that put me off.  Going to wait a bit before I buy it just to be safe.
