200$ budget for portable audio rig - Page 4

If you don't mind waiting a bit for shipment, you could order from MP4 Nation the Sflo2 player (dual wolfson DAC) with Brainwavz M2 (which is bass heavy, great for metal).

FYI, I have no affiliation with MP4 Nation but that's the only shop I know that will sell these items for the budget you are looking for.

I like the sflo2 and m2 option, that would be a good setup.  The re0's have also been recently updated with build quality issues being fixed.  Don't buy them from amazon though unless you are buying from head direct.  The re0's will ensure you hear all the little details in the music that you never knew were there.

you can make a decent amp for $60, like the CMoy.

I'm trying to put together a "If I lose it or it breaks I won't think twice rig  but, I want it to sound halfway decent rig"   out of stuff i've collected over the years.  These are the two players I've narrowed it down too and the best cheapish earbuds I have the cx200.   I attached a carbiner to the back of the clip and intentionally broke off the clip.   This way I can keep it out of my pocket.  http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq159/sportscrazed2/2014-05-28123224_zps5ab95dfd.jpg
