I am not sure what type of amp it is, if anyone knows of it could you let me know. Also what type of tubes it takes. Can it use a  5960 / 7316 tube. I ask because sold some tubes that left hear working and buyer says one does not work. but he was very reluctant to give information about amp used or anything else

thanks for the help

Probably an Audio Research SP10, which was a two-box preamp from the 1980s.  Very well regarded at the time, very high end for the era.  It used four 6922LNs, eight 6922s, two 5881s, and a 12AT7, IIRC.

thanks for the reply can it use a 7316 tube or tubes?

No.  The 7316 was a premium grade 12AU7 made by Amperex, and is not usable in place of a 12AT7, because its gain is way lower.

I doubt if it would sustain actual damage.  Just won't be loud enough to drive the later gain stages.
