Inexpensive amp for RE262 - Page 3

Hello there, new RE-262 buyer here! I'll receive it next week... I'm reading EVERYTHING on it in this forum and i'm excited about them!

I've chosen a very portable amplifier for them but I don't know about the combo...

I have a iphone 4S and I knew that the 262 needed an amp, but I want maximum portability so I've bought the Fiio E1 because of the remote also for the simplicity of it. I know that the E1 is transparent and I wanted the maximum output for my 262 and portability.

And it don't cost much so, do you think it's a good combo?

I bought the E1 and E5 when i first started getting interested in audio.  I find it difficult hear a noticeable difference in sound using the E1 and E5 with the 262 out of my iPhone4S.  After hearing the 262 out of my friends Matrix amp i was finally convinced amping makes a noticeable difference for the 262, I ended up getting the c421.

The E1 has a cable too so adding to your re262 cable you will have a lot of cable between your phone and ears, so if you keep the phone in your pocket, i find there is too much cable, i have to put the cable in my pocket with the remote clipped to pants.  It will be awkward to clip the remote to your shirt  resulting in too much cable between remote and ears.

If i could go back in time, i would not have purchased the E1 & E5 - perhaps the E11 or CMOY at $60 would have satisfied me enough to not go about spending more on something like the c421.
