Hello everyone

I have a simple question. I recently bought the new Sennheiser HD558 headphones. I'm quite happy with the sound, but I want to improve it.  I'm only using my headhpones at the home,  using my PC as a source for music in FLAC format.

This is my current setup:   Onboard realtec sound card on GIGABYTE GA-890GPA  >>>   Logitech Z2300 >>> Sennheiser HD558.

As you can see, the setup is far from being perfect. :)     I have no extra sound card or headphone amp (apart from the weak one inside the Z2300), so I decided to get something new to get some more sound out of my headphones.

First of all, is it worth getting an amp , since HD558's dont need very much juice to run (50 ohms)?   Getting a pretty good sound now, but they're not as loud as i would expect, and headphones always feel like they're capable of much more, especially when listening to rock or something with a lot of sound layers and quick punchy bass.

So, what to get?   Sound card + headphone amp   or a preamp/DAC combo like NuForce uDac2?

I'm ready to spend up to 150$ , since I'm still pretty new into this, and I'm not extremelly demanding.

Thanks
