Hey everyone,

I recently went from a regular gaming headset (Plantronics .377s) to ATH-M50s. My god is the difference incredible. Never has my music or games sounded this great. :)

But there's one exceedingly annoying problem. Static.

If I use my onboard audio, bass is lacking and the volume is horrible (it needs an Amp)...

If I use the USB soundcard I have, I get my volume and bass, but it has quite annoying static when I'm not listening to anything.

I've been told this is EMI...

Now, my motherboard has a S/PDIF output that I'd really like to utilize, but I know nothing of how to (or what will) utilize it. I was thinking of getting a new sound card, (looking at Xonar DX), but that probably wont solve my EMI problems. (not will it help in utilizing S/PDIF).

I also heard the FiiO E7 was another alternative... But again, I'm new to all this.

All I want is the clearest signal from my computer, without breaking the bank... I know a lot of you Audiophiles will laugh at me when I say it, but I only want to spend $100 or so. I don't want "the best" quality, I just want something nice and clean that'll get the most out of my ATH-M50s (at that price point).

I've been searching and learning, but I feel I really need to ask.

Thanks a lot guys, hope to spend a lot more time here,
