Is It Just Me Or Does the Sansa Clip+..................

I bought a Sansa Clip+ several days ago & I wanted to like this tiny player with good interface but the sound quality didn't live up to my expectations. I'm going to try to describe the sound as best as i can...the sound coming out of it is tiny and veiled and the bass is decent but needs a little more  oomph . I listen to alot of Europop, Rock, Disco etc...so i notice the difference.

 

All my previous DAPs were Cowons. My very first was a Cowon U3. Currently I have a Cowon D2+. I love the Cowons sound quality.  And i notice the difference in sound quality between the Clip+ and the D2+.

 

I'm using Phonak Audeo Perfect Bass Earphones.

 

Maybe its just me. What do you guys think about the Sansa Clip+?

I only get on the Clip+ for the clarity. Sometimes to me, IMO, it's not clear as it could be.

 

But the problem might just be your headphones' compare to your D2+, the Eq on Cowon truely out rules all else. Try to play with the custon Eq on the Clip+ and sees where that gets you.

 

To me, I'm not a basshead, yet I like tight, quick bass that has a little punch.

Rockbox will get you a great EQ but it won't help the fact that the Phonak's need probably more power for your needs than the Clip can deliver.

would an unamped, rockboxed clip+ drive an audeo 012 better or the re0 better?
