Creative X-Fi Titanium HD = Crap !

What's the deal with the interface on this thing ?

I was under the impresion (obviously from propaganda spammers ) that it's the same interface as the Auzen X-Fi Prelude, guess what? it isn't! There isn't an opition for Bass or Treble. There isn't an opition for Dolby D  or DTS. I'm pretty PC literate, but I need of some help from you guys if you will please.

That's another thing, ...it say's it's critical to DL all the media toolbox updates? When these are totally irrelevant   to the interface/program? It only bloats your system up with nonsense. Infact it resembles a damn virus IMHO. Ooo and another, why is it only a beta driver you can download? it's barkin mad!

Creative? ............more like Sedative  !

In much need of your help here guys.

Cheers.

Bloody typical of Creative, no other companies make you use the installation CD. Everyone I know DL’s from OS.
Was going to brand them the same as Games for Windows Live and iPod at first lol, definitely not that bad though.

Cheers !

If you use the CD that came with your card install both the driver and the Creative audio Console, within said console you have all the settings you seek bass, treble, dts, dolby live etcetera.....

What are you talking about? I was able to download everything I installed off of Creative's website, and all the options you're looking for are easy to find (either via the Creative console, or going through Windows' Audio devices).

Not sure if its the same as the Auzen X-Fi cards, I was under the assumption that they too used the same Creative console, but maybe not.

I used the latest drivers from the net and it was fine too got all the stuff, there's a separate download for drivers and another file for all the extra fancy gui stuff. Stop blaming on the manufacturer if you don't even know how to use a computer. Found this even a bit amusing so thanks for the laughs :P

internal soundcards are utterly crippled due to bloatware and poorly written drivers that never work as expected, c'est la vie.

Can I recommend you get PAX Drivers for them as he has built some superb drivers just waiting for my HD USB card to be supported but it supports everything else and you can change the bass and stuff all there

Thanks

CardasHD650, I use to feel as you do now.

That's why I switched to Asus Xonars

All of the software which installs with the drivers never bother me nor slow my comp down, But you can use the modded drivers that was linked and just install the console launcher which is used to switch between modes. I wouldnt change sound cards just because of the software you gotta install. It would be for the features that I feel I might need.

I have also heard that the PAX drivers for the X-Fi are much better than the drivers that Creative puts out.  Creative has been pretty poor in the software area for awhile now.

The problem is that people think every one has issues with their drivers because they or they see only people complaining on creative forums. The thing is not every one who dont have issues post on creative forums or any where else  because they have no reason to do so til they have issues.  Creative drivers never gave me a issue, only thing that gave me issues was Nforce chipset drivers.  Xonar drivers doesnt give me issues either, only the GX/DSGX mode fuction when it is used.

But people will have problem with any hardware stuff like that will happen because of the different configs, even applies to the same config, where one person with the same config will have issues while another person doesnt.  But yea the pax drivers are mainy for those who have issues, or if their on a older card which dont have any support.  I have used paq drivers but for a much older card which didnt have support any more.
