Major Dacmagic problem!

Well..I got it off ebay, and yes it's used. But, heres the thing with this box.

When I plug it directly with usb cable into my Win7 32bit computer it installs it's drivers, but I don't get audio. Ok after some searching it seems that I'm missing some "other" driver that can be found on CA site. I get the drivers installed and I get audio...horrible audio.

All I get is distorted piece of shit sound with crackles and pops. I figured there must be strange incompatibility with my pc using usb.

Now I plug back in my Musiland 02US and use it as a USB transporter and connect it to dacmagic with coax cable. Same distorted sound is back. When I lower the digital and asio sound bar in musiland control panel below 40 I get listenable audio, but I have to crank my huge amp all the way past 12 o' clock to get more than whispering output.

So...what I have done wrong or is the Dacmagic I have a complete pos? Tried it on friends win7 64bit machine with different gear and same thing happens. So far I have spent close to 250€ to just keep my Musiland on, and have the dacmagic collect dust.

Sounds like the DAC's at fault and you should try to get it returned or repaired.

However, just to be sure, perhaps try using a separate, non-computer source (e.g. CD player, DVD player, etc) via one of the digital inputs (coaxial or optical) to completely rule out USB/driver issues?
