I have already replaced the opamps and was wondering if there are any other mods that can be done to the D1. I've heard about replacing the caps, but I haven't really been able to locate a guide on it. Also, if there are any other mods such as replacing the power supply, changing the gain, etc., I would be glad to hear it. Not really looking for anything in particular, I was just wondering if the D1 could be made even better. Thanks

See this
@Ultrainferno, do you really have two Maverick A1s? Why do you need two, and how do you like them?

I do yes. One has the matched Raytheon tubes that Ryan sells and the other has some really good Mullard tubes. Ofcourse I like the A1, it's a very good unit for an incredible price that can compete with more expensive amps without any problem (imho)
I don't need two of course, but it is easier (no tube rolling required). But as I'm only listening to the one with the Mullards, I will be putting the one with the Raytheons up for sale. Interested? ;-)

Yeah I have seen the thread but like, the Cap Replacing section was a little ambiguous and I was just wondering if there were any other mods anyone knew about. For instance, I read that the quality control on parts such as resistors is like 10% tolerance or something, which seems pretty big to me. I noticed it when building a CMoy; some resistors I measured were rated at 4.75k ohm but actually measured like 4.6k or 4.8k ohm. So, if someone were to match parts for the D1, what would be the best way to go about it? The above was just an example of one I have heard of, only wondering if anybody knows of any other tweaks that could be done.

While I can't read every Head-Fi post, I've done the best I can to consolidate the info in the FAQ. That is, posted info. There's people that have performed mods but then never talked about how to do them.
