1. Ipods have bad SQ

2. You don't need an amp for 95% of headphones

3. Don't buy a ipod, if you think you need a amp.

4. Just buy a player that has good SQ

5. Buy a Cowon, or Sansa

You can buy a Cowon s9 32gb with some Grado sr80is for $300, you will enjoy them. Or get some Brainwaves if you ant IEMs

This is your opinion, not a fact.

True,...most don't need an amp.

3. Don't buy a ipod, if you think you need a amp.

This is your personal preference, not something you have the right to advise someone about.

4. Just buy a player that has good SQ

Most all players have the same SQ, it's the EQ and sound effects that make a difference. But, SQ is subjective - what's horrid for you might sound sublime to someone else.

5. Buy a Cowon, or Sansa

,...or a Sony, or Samsung, or iPod.

Really, there is no right or wrong - it's all about personal preferences. I have and have tried tons of portable players, and others were raving about their great sound quality - I couldn't hear anything to go crazy over. Then, a cheap player caught my attention, and all the other recommendations went out the window. It wasn't because the SQ was "so much better", it was what made me realize they mostly sound the same.

Really, look at the features you desire, the price your willing to spend, and go buy what you like. Just stay clear of a Coby or Maxell player - you'll get it hame and PRAY it won't die in minutes,...
