What kind of wheels you guys got? - Page 5

Anytime I sit in Cincinnati rush hour traffic, my bias against automatics disappears... Can't afford a 3rd car with a manual transmission (Mazda Miata or Subie WRX) to play with it during weekends though...

LOL

Yeah, but going back.... the original XJ6's use GM400 automatic tranys and it was a popular swap to drop a small block Chevy in one. This works up to the 1987 model (I think)

From the 70's:
Q: Why is it best to have two Jaguar's?
A: So you have one to drive while the other is in the shop.

Xevion, those newer Accents (96 on) don't get enough credit! They're great cars! Actually, Hyundai as a whole has really remade itself. They make some very good cars. The new Santa Fe gives the "small-SUV" crowd (RAV4, CR-V, Forrester, Escape, etc.) a run for their money.
Actually I am quite pleased with the car, I was just joking about the pokiness. I did buy it, ya know . I had one minor problem with it, and that was a pinhole leak near an environmental sensor, the dealer thought I was just not closing the gas cap all the way, other then that it has been perfectly fine. It is just a slow car. Merging onto the highway on a few of the onramps is quite scary (Onramp is a 15 degree incline, old lady doing 25, traffic doing 75), but I manage to not get hit. I can't imagine driving anything like the old Eurovan or a Civic CVCC. Also, with 3 or 4 people in it, it is gawd-awful slow, but for basic transportation it is great.

godawful slow would just would not do for the rickster, not at all
BTW-some jerkweed whacked the ass of my jeep on christmas eve and did not even leave a note !
Yes it was at the pub,and yes he/she was probably hammered but so ?
Crunched my quarter panel and bumper plus smashed out my tail light
I HOPE THE POS WRECKED HIS/HER CAR
My ride was pristine, not a scratch and yes it pisses me off
The way I drive scares my passengers and yet never a wreck.I go through brakes like some go through oil changes (yes I ride on the next cars bumper someone gotta do it ),so I get whacked while parked
Hope thier damn wheels fall off

I feel better now

AR - never knew that, but popular doesn't always mean the best way.

Rick - that's the beauty of having a beastly looking truck (dodge red helps a lot too), when you ride ppls asses on the road, they get scared and move out of your way

Small economy cars are dangerous at highway speeds, wind bangs them around from side to side. Not a pleasurable ride, lol.

The evil grin and tight grip on the steering wheel takes care of that
of course being into mopars means i LIKE dodge red ('specially on the viper ).
My wagoneer is kinda girly yellow with the woodgrain side panels, sorta like a station wagon on stearoids,so I guess the "new character marks" make it look a bit meaner.Or maybe an air horn (or a BIG SPIKE!!!!)
Of course the locals will be scratching thier heads trying to figure out why the dents are not are on the BACK bumper and not in front from my "bumper riding"

I can hear the conversation now "crazy bastard drove home BACKWARDS ! I KNEW he would tag someone one of these days !Matter of time, damn shame he didn't total"

My recollection of Jag's and all Brit cars of that era is 2 only meant you could have both in the shop at once. Lucas Electrics SUCKED.

They were still a hell of a lot of fun though. Anyone remember the most beautiful production car that never made it to production?

The XK-SS!!!!

You have a woody??? Hehe, kewl.

Back panel dents huh... Have you seen that racing movie starring Tom Cruise where he gets rear ended by a taxi, so he gets pissed off, puts it in reverse, and stomps on the gas, haha, lmao, that was so hilarious.

If you really want to scare the locals, paint the whole thing black, get two big spot lights, side bars, and spiked 345/80R15 tires. For your horn, get a sound clip of a fully automatic AK-47 magazine being emptied. That'll get ppl moving.

Q: Why do the Brits drink warm beer?
A: Lucas makes their refrigerators!

There were a few other jokes along those lines. But I owned an anomaly: my 1977 Triumph Spitfire that I bought in 1990 had the original factory Lucas Electronic Ignition. It worked flawlessly the 7 years I owned that car.

But, as was typical, when I fixed the radio, the brakes stopped working.

Rick, don't you HATE inconsiderate people???

Last year my car was parked outside of a restaurant. Someone was obviously outside taking a smoke break and when they were done, they flicked the cigarette at my car. It landed on the hood and burned right in

yeah , but the worst thing macster, accidents DO happen. And I have no problem with that.
BUT JEEZ,step up,leave a note,an I AM REALLY SORRY goes a long way towards easing the pain (in my case anger at the time).
BUT NOOOOO .
The "screw you" "it's not mine" or "can't see it from my house" attitude reigns supreme. At least around here in recent years
And what REALLY sucks is-I frequent the place where it happened and there are very few strangers there so whoever did this more than likely knows me and knows my vehicle.

A "hey rick,I was backing up and I had a little buzz and I hit your car man.Sorry dude.I do you right " would go a long way, real long way.Instead I feel like someone is sh*tting on me and my ride

Oh well,rant over

Cheers dude

Rick

EDIT : HEY ! That robot changes expression like I change my socks
COOL

I am not a permanent resident in the United State, so, my dad refuse to buy me an expensive car here. Anyway I drive a Ford Focus ZX3, and found it to be a good all around car.

As for mum and dad, they like SUVs. We had a CR-V, a Merc ML 320, and a sedan, Volvo S80.
