take another pic of the guy's face on the box, if it looks yellowish, then it's most likely a fake

I own the real deal IE7 and love them.  The pictures shows that it comes with all the accessories, so that's a good start.  Next is to get a closer shot of the right angle connector and you should see a red wire within the see through material as well as in the Y-joint where the two sides split off from each other.  However, this may not be 100% reliable anymore.  Best is to ask the source where it was purchased and provide some proof if possible.  If it's from eBay or some off shore (Chinese) wholesaler, I would shy away and buy the real deal from J&R for $199  http://www.jr.com/sennheiser/pe/SEN_IE7/ before they raise the prices back to full retail.

Hard to tell as the focus is way off and can't see a distinctive red wire.  Ask for a more clearer shot as well as the underside of the Y-splitter (will have "IE7" on the front side), which should be image number 1185 from what you've already provided.  If it's too much trouble, it's not worth dealing with fakes/counterfiets unless your expectation of sound quality and build is in alignment with what they offer.

They look authentic to me - the cuts in the foam are a giveaway between real and fake - the cuts are razor sharp in the real thing - and a little rough in the fakes - below are the foam and 'open here' panel on the real and fake IE8's

Your foam (the prospective purchase) looks like the better cut.

Looks real to me. But don't quote me on it. Although I'm about 85% sure its real. How does it sound?
