I just got this box in the mail from Amazon. The packaging is great... 60 mini LP jackets and a thick book with all of the liner notes from all of the albums.

Chopin, Liszt, Mussorgsky, Bartok, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Strauss, Ravel, Dubussy, Schumann, Schubert, Mahler, Brahms, Bruch.. complete operas by Puccini and Verdi. This set cuts a wide swath through the core repertoire. Just about every disk is a classic performance too. For a little over two bucks a disk, this has to be one of the best bargains in classical music. Even if you didn't own another classical cd, you'd still have a good basic collection. It's going to take me months and months to digest all of this.

I'm in hog heaven!

One more thing about this set that I didn't realize at first. Each disk consists of two Living Stereo LPs. The average running time per CD is 70 minutes. That's like 120 LPs.

Anyone had problems with drives recognizing these?  Two are ok; one is dicey - have to keep reinserting them; and two won't recognize them at all.  I tried multiple CDs.

I've been ripping mine with no problems

Fortunately, the drive on the machine I use for ripping is one of the happy ones.  It really is an amazing selection of music.
