I would go for the less expensive one. As far as contenders - if you mean performance, I would go for something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-HPE-325-Headphone-Extension-Cable/dp/B000068O3L/ref=pd_cp_MI_3
or this:
Or if I was feeling flush, I might go for this:

If you are looking for a contender in terms of the audacity of the seller, I can't help you.

I already has the Grado that you mentioned, and actually the most expensive ones amongst those you listed.
However I noticed a deterioation in SQ even with Grado's own phones. As another member mentioned, they make the colored sound of Grado even more colored.
Did you get a chance to actually listen to the ones you mentioned ?
I am listing DiMarzio Big Red and Sonic Horizon Hurricane based on member Mark1 review back a number of years ago, however he never get a chance to directly compared these two. Also years passed and I wonder if there has been better contenders coming out...
I can assure you that the grado extension cord works perfectly fine.
It's just a piece of standard microphone cable.
Well, there is certainly no functional problem with the Grado as such, just that there is a discernable deterioation in SQ. Some heard it and some don't, it depends on a number of factors...
Belkin makes one that is quite well built for the price and has worked well for me.
factors ? may be but all related to your own fantasy :)
These expensive cables are a formidable joke, which is fine, except that the only ones laughing are the cable makers ! Well, I smile too when I run into threads like these.
