What USB DAC/AMP or USB DAC + AMP "combo" would you recommend for Beyerdynamic DT770/600?
I have laptop which doesnt have lots of connections so it has to be USB. Budget is 400-700 dollars.
Thanks.

OK, if you've got the 600ohm Beyers, you'll need something with a bit of omph.
There are a few combos with a large following here.
I'll make a list. I'm not sure about each ones' ability to drive 600ohms so you might need to attract more attention or use the search.
I think these are within your budget although I'm not sure about Dollars. Also, I've assumed you're wanting a desktop amp even if it is to use with your laptop. (Get foobar2k if you haven't already)
Audio-gd Products (NFB-12, Sparrow, Fun, NFB 10 in cost order)
Matrix Mini-i
LIttle Dot DACII
HifiMan EF2 (Tube Amp)
I'd try those (in that order).
Come back and share your findings.
Ah, wait a sec. I misread the subject. Are you trying to decide whether to buy a DAC & Amp vs a DAC/Amp?
I have some 600ohm DT880s but I've only enjoyed them with the Little Dot mkV and Lehmann Black Cube Linear. Also, I see them as the more detailed alternative to my HD600s (for electronic music mainly).
I also, tried mine with the a Beresford Caimen but I don't like that DAC/Amp so it'd be unfair to comment.
TBH, if you're not set on a DAC/Amp combo, I'd definitely get a separate tube amp for the Beyers. Their warmer sounds pair better with the Beyers than many SS amps.
Try LittleDot, Darkvoice and HifiMan to start with.
Then look at DACs to complement whichever amp you buy. I'd suggest WooAudio too but I don't think you'd get a WA amp with a DAC within your budget.
Is that more helpful?
