Yes they're open, they have big soundstage.

Not bass headphones at all but compared to dt48 they got more bass than them.

I wanted to know, how long do they take to "burn-in", and what kind of difference will it make?

And also, any recommended portable amps for these headphones?

The volume kind of lacks when I play them with my iPod nano, which is more than understandable considering the size of these phones and the amount of power they must demand.

Thaanks. =D

I run mine through an iBasso D2+ and it's a fantastic combination. Amping these headphones really fills out the bottom end.

Damn. Took a look at the aforementioned amp, and MAN is it expensive.

Not to mention it doesn't look too portable either. =/

Any other recommended amps, that are lower on the cost and portable?

=)

Oh yeah, and for seeing these headphones running at full potential:

I absolutely fell in love with them when I listened to this in it's full HD mode, better still, when I downloaded the 320 mp3:

This track really makes these headphones shine for everything they're good for, and puts them out there as a God-send. In my humble opinion. xP

=D

I'm not a Tiesto fan but this remix is quite good but I like the original version better of this song even if I'm a trance-lover. The bass is perhaps a bit overpowering for my XB500 though. :p Oh and Pirates of Caribbean movies <3

What about hardstyle tracks that is like all about brain massage-delivering bass.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI0aFtwfjoE (use 720p quality, quality isn't superb on the bass though but couldn't find any better)

My head goes in auto-headbang mode on my XB500. I only listen to a few GREAT hardstyle songs with some enjoyable tunes in it and ofc for their insane bass like the one I posted, takes usually some time b4 it kicks in for real, at 2:20 in this case. :)

Here's another popular one from one of the biggest hardstyle artists in this scene Headhunterz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVrm8PPWop0

Here's another very good one with quite nice bass :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB0X-vAC9qg

Been listening to my Ultrasone and some music is just amazing with Ultrasone.

Not a bass thing but recently checked this out with my Ultrasone you could call this a S-Logic test tracks.

If you have standard headphones and then compare them against Ultrasone.

These are tracks where you hear why S-Logic soundstage is better than standard headphones.

Should work great for any Ultrasone model.

SQ is fairly limited/compressed it is youtube but the point of it should come across.

But tracks like this reminds me why Ultrasone's headphones just sound better than everyone else.

I do have open air Ultrasones but it should be great on the closed back ones as well I would think... let me know.

That's not an S-Logic thing but the way they are recorded. I get the same surround sound too on my headphones with each instruments having their own clear direction/distance where they appear to come from like it would be outside the headphone even. It's a shame not more tracks are recorded this way. Ultrasone was smart enough from a marketing standpoint to deliver a demo CD with binaural recordings though to let some people think it may be because of the S-Logic sound as not a lot of people are familiar with it from before. Of course soundstage of the headphone itself helps too but the recording itself is the major reason for the very nice surround effect.

Actually it is S-Logic thing for headphones.

Because the binaural magic isn't there with standard headphones.

I think you will need a Ultrasone to even understand what I mean.

The song's sound great on the DT 880 too but not as great as they sound with the Pro 2500 and HFI 2200 it's very speaker like not so plain left and right its how they blend with the Ultrasone.
