The hfi have the lower end rumble compared to my dt770 pro 80 and ath m50.

I prefer hfi 580 to both in regards to bass plug the upper bass whatever you call it is the same though.

Fare picked the right headphone to what he listens too.

The dt 770 pro 80 is hard to amp still and not as loud.

It does sound a bit more airy compared to these hfi 580..but bass around the 20-30hz it doesn't have the slam and rumble that the hfi 580 has like what a sub woofer has.

I am no expert on soundstage but yea it is slightly bigger than the hfi 580's.

I suggest you buy the hfi 580 it is a favorite compared to the xb 500 and if that rpg guy buys the hfi he will find out about the low end rumble that sub woofers have..but these headphones don't go as low as subwoofers though and i'm not an expert as bass but these headphones give me goose bumps.

When i have more cash i'll try the pro900.

Just tried the dt770 pro 80 compared to my hfi 580...the hfi 580 has the low end rumble more than the dt 770 pro 80 and the dt 770 pro 80 compared to these well the hfi 580 sounds more detailed.

I think fare will have a hard time finding something else over these hfi 580.

If you get the dt 770 you will be disappointed over how hard it is to amp even with my amps, the ath m50 does not have the low end slam and rumble that the hfi 580 has as well..it goes very well with songs like rap and rnb and rock.

If i get slapped over the dt 770 and hfi 580 over bass, i prefer the bass of the hfi 580 as being more exciting..it has more low end slam and rumble i just like to say.

I ment the m50 and dt 770 don't go as low as 20-30hz of bass..it has more kick and slam and rumble in that area apart from that the bass is basicly the same in a way.

Oh I've already returned them. Regardless of the sound, they leaked far too much. (That is also keeping me away from the PRO900's as they seem comparable in terms of build)

It's really interesting that you say the 580 has more of a deep rumble...I've been told the contrary, or at least I think I was. How different would the two be in terms of soundstage though? are they vastly different or just by a little?

It varys with the amp scytus, with my portable amp which is the ttjv portable millet hybrid i get alot more rumble over my black cube linear except with the linear it is more refined.

Yes i like to say the hfi 580 has more low end rumble over the dt 770, by quite alot over the dt 770 but then the dt 770 isn't as loud..it's alot more harder to power but as i type listening the bass has more omph on this amp over the bcl.

Oh no! Skullcandies and Beats? What happened to the title? :P jk... still, I don't think any of the skullcandies or beats are going to top your ultrasones... I've got a pair of M50s and I'm loving them so far, you you might want to try those...

The hfi 580 is more of a bass monster than the dt 770 with my amps i'm afraid with the low end rumble, these cans shake on your head...the dt 770 is not as loud tbh..but the bass of both well the hfi 580 by a bit with the bass the dt 770 puts out but the hfi 580 has more low end rumble and punch.

I can't give a fair impression as the dt 770 is under powered but...the hfi 589 has more low end rumble over the dt770 for certain.
