Hi im new here and dont usually create threads on forums i just try and get the information from what other people have asked and peoples responses but i cant seem to pin together a definate answer so i thought i would just ask since this seems like a friendly community.
I'm just starting to get into being an audiophile, and as such bought some Sennheiser HD 595's they sound great i mean really good compared to my last razer gaming headset but all reviews say how crisp they are at high volume, im getting a lot of distortion and its obvious where its coming from, my piece of crap onboard soundcard, so my question is what should i do? I dony have the money to be a true audiophile but Ive been reading reviews about the STX/ST and that sounds good to me i.e. it would suit my needs and would be my upper budget limit but would it be cheaper to get a different sound card with external DAC thats of compareable quality. My desk has so much stuff on and around it that i could do without the DAC adding to it but i wouldnt mind if it would A. save me money and B. Be of atleast the same quality as the STX/ST.
What are your suggestions?
