All,
I am looking for the best sound card for gaming and movies. Doing a little research, using the forum search, I have heard alot about:
1. Azentech Cards such as the Prelude (discontinued), X-FI Home Theater HD and Forte 7.1. The problem I see here is that their availability is low and some online retailers (such as newegg) no longer carry them which makes me think that they might be going away.
2. Asus Cards such as the Xonar Essence ST and STX seem to have trouble keeping up with driver support.
3. Creative X-Fi Titanium HD seems like the newest but there isn't alot of information yet regarding this card. Also creative products seem to be inferior from what I have read in this forum.
I am looking for a sound card that will do the following:
1. Needs to support all current audio formats for movies. Example Blurays
2. Needs to support 5.1 or 7.1 for external speakers.
3. Needs to excel in gaming.
4. Needs to have a built in headphone amp that will power 250ohm DT880s
5. Needs to support DH for gaming.
6. Should provide good audio but it is not the primary use.
Any ideas? I am sure that this has been discussed alot but there is just too much conflicting information.
Thanks,
Punisher
