I just received my LD+1 last week. Unfortunately, it has a distortion problem. I went through the initial steps recommended by David and it did not help. It will work at relatively low volume levels, as soon as you start cranking it up (and I don't listen through headphones at very loud levels) it goes into distortion. There is almost no headroom. I tried at both gain settings with similar results. I have low Z phones (AD700).
I ordered it with EF92 tubes. He is going to send me a couple of 6J1s, in the remote possibility it is a tube problem, but the distortion seems to be common to both channels. I tried it with the output of my DVD/CD player, and also my mp3 player, with the same results. If the tubes don't do it. it's back to China for repair.
David Zhezhe was very helpful walking me through the diagnostics, but we seem to have run out of ideas.
No dip swtiches in mine either, I think the latest ones only have jumpers.
