title says it all.   every time i want to transfer new files to my micro sd card via my clip plus, it is REeeeeeeeally slow.. any suggestions to speed it up?  I tried using a card reader, but i could never get it to work, so currently i have the card in my clip plus and am using the mini usb.. i dont remember which mode i have the clip+ in and dont know if that matters.   Now that i have 32gb micro sd, filling it up is taking HOURS!

Well if you don't want to get a reader then this is what happens. The reader from most players are slow and usually takes a long time to fill up. It took a while to fill up the 16GB I have for my J3 so either get used to it or get a dedicated reader.

Did you format the card before you started transferring files, also what brand is it, and how fast is your transfer rate in Kbs on your computer?

Transferring a full 00 GBs onto my Sandisk Micro SD card only took a little over an hour.  If your PC is slow and old, transfer rate will be sluggish.  If it is at least a dual core, it should not take many hours.  1 and a half to 2 hours is normal for a full 30gb of data transferred from a pc to a micro sd card.  HOURS is not normal and something is wrong.

no format first..not necessary

brand dane-electric (its a class 2 also)

size 32gb

my computer is custom built, new, and very snappy - thats definately not the issue

it probably did take a couple or 3 hours to fill the card... i guess this is just how it goes

factoring in the fact that the card was in the Clip+ at the time and i suppose this is normal.. .im just impatient

but.. it worked!  i now have a 40GB clip+!!!! and thats what matters ;-)

Thats great!

You have a slow card. Class 2 is the slowest (and only) speed available for 32 gb microsd cards. I'm looking forward to the day they have class 10.

^ x2.

Class 2 is the slowest card, which makes it the cheapest. But for playing music, it is fast enough.
