you can find the srh840 for pretty cheap in the states, $126 with the coupon techbargain at electronics-expo.com

though it seems like a different story internationally.

Are they an authorized reseller? I can't seem to get them to add to my cart but there's no "OOS" indicator either. I'll give them a call in the morning. It'd be great if I could get them at that price.

I would ;)  It is very heavy, clunky and the headband does not conform to your head.  I dont really understand why studio monitors have that design, they are meant to be worn for hours every day and there is no excuse for having a headband that is not designed to be comfortable and lightweight.  They make you look like a radar dish due to the space in between your head and the headband itself lol, never really understood why anyone would ever want to wear something like that.

but the earpads are amazingly comfy, just puts way too much pressure on the very top of your head <3

nope, not available yet, not sure what rivals it will have yet, I would have said the M50, but the price difference is pretty large

Jude said within the first few pages that he has a pre-release pair.

I'm moderately anticipating these. The thing about the 840s is that they have a more sterile sound than musical and a part of me is hoping these are more musical as the 840s ended up being used as my TV/podcast headphone. Looking forward to the more comfortable padding too!

Arent they suppose to come out feb 15 lol

Seems pretty cute.

Jude did you get clearance?

some stores say they will only be available from April, 10

yeaa would u guys do that 75$ four payments?

they're not available yet anyway. so the 4*75 payment doesn't matter

Here's a bit of intrigue regarding the SRH940.  I actually purchased a set in late January from the ebay seller mentioned earlier in this thread (big a/v seller with 99%+ positive feedback).  He accepted my bid but the phones still hadn't shipped after a couple of weeks.  When I asked him about it, he found out from his shipping people that they were all set to go but Shure recalled them and made them send back all their stock before they could mail one to me.

I'll give Shure the benefit of the doubt and say that they were trying to keep to a single release date (and not something juicy and nefarious like recalling them to improve their sound one last time before setting them loose to the cruel world of head-fi reviewers).

There was one buyer who did order a set about a week before me- so I think they actually received them.  c***e are you out there?

I might find myself falling victim to overpaying for these when they first come out...

Kinda been looking for the new portable (Senn PX 360 just didn't tickle my fancy enough - sent them back) and these are certainly intriguing to me.

Wonder when "Spring 2011" is?
