I am a complete newb

 

Will this op amp work in the xonar essence st by themselves - just plugged in, or do I need some type of an adaptor.

 

All three sockets?

This thread http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/357541/ad8620-vs-opa627-vs-opa637-vs-lm4562 might be helpful.  Pay attention to post  3 also, about the gain, since you don't necessarily know what the gain of the circuit is.   Also, you'll need to make sure you by the "PDIP" version of the chip.  If you get SOIC's, you'll need to buy "BrownDog" adapters.
