Hi,
I just deleted the beginning of an even longer first post post explaining how I 'accidently' ordered a pair of Audioengine P4's when I thought I was ordering the A5's. If you don't know (I didn't), the sets look extremely similar and the Canadian (I'm moving there) prices for the passives are comparable to the price of the actives down here. I know it was still dumb but cut me some slack as I prepare to leave the country.
I could return the P4's but that would mean spending $120 on absolutely nothing thanks to return shipping and a 20% restocking fee. Option #2 would have been to go through the hassle of trying to recoup my cash by posting my own online ad.
I think I did what most of us would have and chose option #3 which was to use the 'honest mistake' as an excuse to expand the budget for the sake of getting more stuff, a receiver. As the receiver will only be pushing 2 bookshelves (potentially 4 with a sub eventually) and was an unexpected expense the entry level and respectably reviewed Denon AVR-391 for $200 seemed like a fair choice, especially when if I had waited I'd have been shopping in the usually more expensive Canadian market. (move is tomorrow)
So that's how I arrived at The Audioengine P4's and the Denon AVR-391 as my desktop/small apartment audio. It wasn't exactly what I had planned on but it ought to be a decent upgrade from my Logitech Z5's... ... right?
