noise-canceling unidirectional mic...

Hey guys,

I can't find the info I'm looking for.

I plan to get JVC HARX700 headphones (you are welcome to suggest something else, but I'd like to keep it under $50), and I'd like to zip tie a noise-canceling unidirectional flexible mic to them for Skype and gaming using this cable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007FGU7/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A1AELTLVGJRO4D

The only mics I have been able to find are...

and

Does anyone have a different recommendation for a mic or cable or are they all pretty much the same? I'm not even sure if these ones are noise-canceling or unidirectional...how can I tell?

Thanks,

-TG

I was going to recommend the zalman clip on mic, but MLE despises it. In this thread > http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1285726

He recommends the Labtec LVA-7330 http://www.amazon.com/Labtec-LVA7330.../dp/B00000JBRV in which you only use the microphone part by sawing off the rest. He also suggests the mini clip on mic from http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7080.

I'm not really interested in a clip on at all...nor the neck wraparound mic.

Is that Labtec mic flexible? It would be hard to justify $20 if it isn't.

Does anyone know if the 2 mics I mentioned are noise-canceling and/or unidirectional?

I don't know about the two microphones you listed. I'm guessing it would be on the developer's website. But for the Labtec mic, yes it's flexible. it's one of those metal-ish flexible scaly materials.

Well, I think I'm sold on the Labtec mic, but the only place I can find it is on Amazon from a just launched seller with no ratings at all for $20.

I'm not sure if I should risk it or not.

My other option would be to get the cheap one I listed and just wait for the Labtecs to show up somewhere.

What do you guys think?

Just ordered the cheap stuff...going to keep an eye out for the Labtecs.

Good question. Regarding the new seller though, I'm not too sure I'd be overly concerned. It's not like you're buying a pair of HD650s. I don't know why anyone would waste their time trying to scam someone out of $20 for a microphone that has next to no market at all lol. The seller would have to be one extremely idiotic scammer haha. But it's your call.
