It's too bad you could not wear them around the ear.  My Momentums fit perfectly, and even with the good fit I believe the DT1350s are better...but there is something about the Momentum sound that is addicting.  The Sennheiser has less sub bass and more mid bass, but what it has of both is combined in perfect harmony.     I don't want to use the typical Head-fi cliche and say that the Momentums are fun, yet I'm forced to do so in this case since that is exactly what they are - fun as hell.   These two models complement each other perfectly.   After all, a Headfier cannot live by bread alone.

anyone know if there are any impressions on the 1350 facelift vs the current model?

My new toys beyersmile.png

DT1350 and a Meier Audio Corda PCSTEP.

I decided to upgrade my portable/at work "rig", that consisted solely of greasy earbuds and my phone, to something a little better. Being a massive fan of the beyerdynamic + Meier combo, after only a little consideration and a lot of blind faith (or more like trust based on experience), I bought this pair.

This is indeed a great little headphone! Right off the bat I was amazed by the clarity of the bass and soundstage positioning (having had mostly bad experiences with closed headphones in this price range, due to being too "muddy"). Also quite impressive is how much better these sound through the amp, when compared to the headphone output of my phone. I got the new version with a coiled cable, which I find very convenient for portable use. The PCSTEP does its job very nicely, I'm using its built in dac as well, with mostly Spotify as source. That familiar sound signature that I love so much from this pair of brands is definitely present, my music sounds just the way I like it.

It did take a bit of practise to get the DT1350 sit on my head just where it needs to be to sound right. And having been used to open, over the ear headphones for a long time, I really had to get used to the feeling of on-the-ear. At first I couldn't stand the pressure on my ears after only half an hour of listening, but I'm very glad to say that has passed now. Maybe the headband has loosened a bit, or I just got used to it, I'm not sure, all I know is that for the past few days I've been listening non-stop for many hours (while doing boring office work..). But honestly, it can not compare to the comfort of, say, the T1, which I don't even feel anymore after a few seconds.

Really glad with the upgrade, considering that throughout a regular working day this is actually the headphone I will use the most. Highly recommended!

nice rig there!

RazorJack, that is awesome! I'm going to be pulling the trigger on one of Jan's portables here soon, as well. The Meier/Beyer synergy is fantastic, and I know I've been very surprised at how much the little 1350s will scale with better amplification. I plugged them into my Meier stack the other day and was really shocked at how much more they had in them. They sound great from just a headphone jack, but as others told me long ago, they will really respond to higher quality amps. That's a very satisfying rig you've got there!

That's for sure ;-)

@RazorJack: could you post some closeups of the headband cushioning and how it is fixed to the headband?

Does anyone know if Beyerdynamic will be rebranding these new facelift headphones as a different model or will they be just keeping the same name?

They *are* using the same name and sell them currently as 'DT1350 (Facelift)'

Had the same experience...it's what made decide in favor of the 1350's.

I got my pair delivered yesterday. The store I ordered from said I'd be getting the new facelift ones, but I'm not sure if they are or not. There is nothing on the box that makes it apparent.
